Mended Little Heart of St. Petersburg

Mended Little Hearts of St. Petersburg is a non-profit support group for family members and/or caregivers of children affected with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) / heart disease. MLH of St. Pete strives to provide families with the support they need while dealing with the life changing event of having a child diagnosed or treated for a CHD. In addition, educational and health resources relating to CHD / heart disease and personal well-being are available for research purposes.

Mended Little Hearts of St. Pete actively pursues ways to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects and the possible contributing factors associated with CHD’s. Raising awareness is not the only thing that MLH of St. Pete is committed to. Fundraisers are planned throughout the year with monies raised going toward pediatric CHD / heart disease research and in assisting us in providing the support that many families need.

Finding out your child has a Congenital Heart Defect is a life changing situation for families, even after surgery. Life with a child affected by a CHD is like being on a continuous roller coaster ride. Mended Little Hearts of St. Pete is here to provide support to each other through those times. All of us hope our children form unbreakable bonds with each other, so that they truly know they are not alone in this lifelong battle.

Mended Little Hearts History
Mended Hearts, Inc is a nationwide organization established in 1951 to support adults dealing with heart disease. In 2004, Mended Little Hearts, Inc. was born to provide support to families dealing with pediatric heart defects/disease. Mended Little Hearts of St. Pete received its official chapter recognition in February 2006.
